Union Workers Get what they Deserve

It makes me crazy when I see unions strike companies that are struggling to stay afloat, like there is some bottomless pit full of money and benefits that they are somehow entitled to. Union people live in a fantasy world where normal rules need not apply.

Well, speaking of normal rules, you reap what you sow in this life and below is a union that is reaping the harvest of striking Hostess and putting the company out of business.  Good luck guys as you enter the Obama Unemployment Lines.

Liberals Warped View of the Economy

Read this on some FB page:

“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers, we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats, we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.” B. Lester

Here is my response from a conservative perspective:

If you are down and out, you are championed by liberals. If you struggle to make your situation better, work hard, start a business, hire employees and achieve success and become wealthy, you are then demonized by the very same liberals. You are now the enemy. There is a fundamental hitch in the liberal mind that despises success. But success is the American dream. Hmmmm. Is it any wonder when liberals get control of the nation’s purse strings, the nation goes into a tail spin.

Couple more comments: Your average millionaire in the USA today is a hard working small business owner who employs people. This nonsense about “pathological money hoarder” can only be found in the wild imaginations of these goofy liberals. Secondly, one of the most basic misunderstandings in the minds of liberals is that our economy is a closed system. If I make a ton of money, that means that much less money for you and others. WRONG!!! Our economy is open-ended. That money I made is not something taken away from you. It represents what I call “sweat-equity”. It is the worth of what my business has CREATED that did not previously exist. Just because I make a fortune does not mean that you now CANNOT make a fortune. People who are successful are not stealing your piece of the pie — they are making the pie BIGGER!!

Think of it this way: You sell hot dogs on a street corner. You charge what the market will bear. Now if a guy on the opposite coast designs a new computer or a better mouse trap and gets rich, does that mean people in your town can no longer buy your hot dogs? Of course not. You haven’t been hindered in the slightest. You are still free to make your own fortune. You can franchise your business, go nationwide, get rich and move next door to the guy who made the better mouse trap! The only thing stopping a liberal is their bankrupt philosophy.

Liberals entire argument stems from a BAD ATTITUDE. Their whole philosophy of life is based on breaking God’s 10th commandment which tell us not to ENVY anything that is our neighbor’s. Liberals are ALL about envy. But envy is fleshly, ungodly, unhealthy and an unhappy view of life. An envious person can have all of life’s pleasures, but be totally unhappy because that bastard on the other side of the tracks has way more than him. It’s just like the driver on the freeway who is constantly bobbing and weaving because he doesn’t like having someone in front of him slowing him down. That’s a LONG freeway — there will ALWAYS be someone ahead of you. Always!

Bad Liberal Ideas

Watching Obama being “grilled” on 60 Minutes on TV. I am so tired of the mindset that thinks the country should be concerned about income equality.  What a stupid concept. Here are some off the cuff comments about bad liberal thinking:

  1. Republicans (i.e. Bush) Screwed up the Economy. As I recall, the economy did quite well during the Bush years.  We experienced a recession after 9-11.  But the Bush tax cuts stimulated the economy and that recession was very short-lived. That’s because conservative ideas work!  Up until the 6th year of Bush’s presidency, the economy was doing well.  In early 2007, houses in our neighborhood were selling in the low 300 thousands but started turning south.  Today, the same houses are selling for under 200 thousand.  Problems started happening in 2006. Coincidentally, that which controls the purse strings of our federal government, the Congress, was taken over by the Democrats in both houses in 2006. What happened from then until Obama was elected was in spite of Bush, not because of Bush. There was a big power struggle going on.  It is my opinion that Bush’s decision to bail out the banks was wrong.  Obama continuing this idea of bail outs was also wrong, but to a larger degree.
  2. We should have income equality.  This is pure communism and there is no excuse for this kind of thinking in America.  It is totally foreign to the American way of life. Let me ask you this: If you take a job from a company and agree to a certain wage and are paid that wage for your work, what’s unfair about that? If you don’t like making $15/hour being a street sweeper, is someone stopping you from going to school and becoming a software writer for $30/hour or a CEO making $200,000/year?  Are you actually suggesting that the person who made the effort to become a CEO must be equalized with the pay of the street sweeper?  On what legal, financial or even moral grounds do you have the right to do that? And if the street sweeper is to make mountains more money, where is that money supposed to come from? Let’s say you start a drive thru latte stand business.  Do you honestly think that the money the rich have somehow limits you from selling your cup of coffee for $3?  But that is what the liberal argument is saying – that you have less money because the rich have more money.  But your money is directly tied to how many cups of coffee, lattes or mochas you sell for X dollars a cup.  Maybe you start selling cakes and cookies on the side.  Maybe you eventually start hot lunches at lunch time.  And maybe you eventually branch out and franchise your business.  All of that is based soley on the bottom line of your company which is a function of income minus expenses.  How does the wealth of the rich have ANY influence on your coffee business?  Answer: It doesn’t.  Liberals complaining about the wealth of the rich is simply an immature response to the fact that they ENVY those who have more than they do.  That’s not a financial problem.  That’s a character flaw.
  3. We need to tax the rich more. For what purpose I ask?  Our 15 trillion dollar debt is so high, we could confiscate everything that ALL the rich people have and hardly put a dent in the deficit.  Our federal government spends way, way, way too much money.  I think the federal government should not only spend less, I think it should be severely shrunk.  I’m talking 30, 40, 50 percent smaller!  We don’t need and can’t afford all the crap the federal government thinks it needs to have its fingers in.  We are a free people who live in sovereign states whose federal government is not supposed to be involved in that which is not clearly laid out in the Constitution.  If we actually lived by this law, the government would be but a fraction of its present size. I would also like to observe that the rich already pay the lion’s share of taxes in this country.  When the bottom 47% of citizens pay nothing and the top 5% of tax payers pay 54% of the tax bill.  Did you catch that?  54%!!!!! So I say, the rich pay too much and the bottom 47% should simply sit down and shut up!  They have no say because they are freeloaders.

The Rich Paying their Fair Share

“Now the Republicans, you know when I, I talked about this earlier in the week. They said ‘well, this is class warfare.’ You know what? If asking a billionaire to pay their fair share of taxes. To pay the same tax rate as a plumber or a teacher is class warfare, then you know what? I, I, I, I, I’m, I’m a warrior for the middle class. I’m happy to fight for the middle class,”

President Obama said at the Brent Spence Bridge in Cincinnati, OH.

What a truck load this is!  I think Pres. Obama generally believes a lot of what he says, but in this case, he is just being a politician.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to KNOW that if anyone needs to pay “their fair share” it would be the lower 47% of taxpayers who pay no federal income taxes at all. According to the Office of Tax Analysis, in 2002, the top 5 percent of taxpayers paid more than one-half (53.8 percent) of all individual income taxes, but reported roughly one-third (30.6 percent) of income. The top 5% pay over half the bill while the bottom 47% pay nothing and Obama wants to stick it to the top 5%!!  More accurately, Obama wants to get re-elected.

What I don’t understand are the people who not only don’t think this is unfair, but think the rich should pay even more!  These people sound like a bunch of children to me.  Children are immature and don’t understand the world around them.

Obama is trying to generate energy in his base.  And his base are leftist ideologues who hate anyone who has succeeded in our country.  The sad part is that Obama is our president and this nation needs a president who is willing to fix our economy.  Leftist politics won’t fix our economy.  Leftist policies are what broke our economy in the first place and is keeping a strangle hold on it still.

2010 can not come soon enough for our country.  We all know someone who is about to lose their home, their business, their job as a result of the silly leftist policies of Barack Obama. And it’s not because the rich have too much and pay too little.  It is because the rich are being stifled and scared.  And the rich (individuals and corporations) are those who employ the rest of us.  Until they feel it is SAFE to start investing in jobs and business again, nothing will change in our economy.  And Obama does not get that.
